Former wrestler-turned-action-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson added two French Bulldog puppies to his family over the Labor Day weekend. He named the pups Hobbs and Brutus. Like any other doting pup parent, he immediately began training his dogs how to pee in the back yard like pros. Unfortunately, one overzealous pup was enjoying his new posh life a little too much. The puppy zipped right into the deep end of the pool, and then sank “like a rock” (pun totally intended).
Fortunately, The Rock was there to save the day. On his Instagram, he explains how he dived into the pool fully clothed to save the young pooch.
“I take off into the full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick, I mean Brutus, and bring him back to the edge of the pool.”
Although a little delirious, Brutus was perfectly fine.
“[He] looked up at me as if to say, ‘Thank God you didn’t have to give me mouth to mouth!’ and then ran off to play with his brother.”
And, as if this happy story couldn’t have a more fitting ending, The Rock closes his Labor Day tale with three lessons of wisdom:
A) Not all puppies have the instinct to doggie paddle.
B) Some puppies (like BRUTUS) will be so in shock by experiencing water they will sink extremely fast, so react quick.
C) While spiriting to save your puppies life, before you dive in, try and throw your cel (sic) phone to safety. Don’t keep it in your pocket…like I did.
