On Friday in Port Orange, FL, a white Pit Bull mix gave new meaning to the phrase “barking up the wrong tree” as she was found by some good samaritans with her head stuck under a tree. Our best guess is that this little gal had just finished reading Winnie the Pooh and was on a mission to find her own delicious honey tree.
While there was no honey to be found, this dog still found herself in a sticky situation – that is, until Port Orange firefighters and police stepped in to save her. Because this dog was unable to free herself, Port Orange Fire Rescue ended up using chainsaws and winches to rescue her.
Maybe it was all a ploy so she could be carried to safety by this police officer?
As heard on the video posted on WFTV Channel 9’s Facebook page, it isn’t clear how long she was in this predicament, but the left side of her head was a “little roughed up.” This girl is expected to make a full recovery, though, and is being treated at Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic.

Found with a collar on, police are attempting to locate her owners, who we hope will tell her that treats are at their house, not under a tree. We’re so glad this little pup is safe and hope she will be reunited with her owners soon!
