What do you do when you find out your four-legged family member is diagnosed with a terminal illness and only has months left to live? If you are like one woman from British Columbia, you create the greatest dog bucket list ever.
Let me introduce you to Romeo and his owner Riina Cooke. Romeo was diagnosed with an untreatable type of bone cancer.

Instead letting sorrow get the best of the two, Cooke decided to create the ultimate Romeo bucket list in order to make his final days the best of his life.

“I was just so upset for the first few days, I needed to do something to occupy my mind,” Cooke explained.
“I decided to put together a list of fun things for us to do together, for example, riding a police car and fire engine, having a steak dinner, professional massage, try sushi and to go on a blind date with another boxer.”

Cooke documented Romeo’s adventures on Facebook, and soon Romeo became a mini celebrity, inspiring people worldwide. “I hope by sharing Romeo’s bucket list on Facebook that it will bring light to other people who are going through something similar,” she said.

Sadly, four months after being diagnosed, Romeo passed on March 16.
“It was bittersweet, I had to let Romeo go,” Cooke said. “We had so many great memories together but it wasn’t fair to keep him alive when he was in so much pain.”
“Everyone loved him, he was such a kindhearted dog.”
