In case you needed another reason to constantly compare yourself to others, this new “selfie rater” uses artificial intelligence to rate your attractiveness on a scale of “Hmm…” to “Godlike.” The app, produced by Blinq with help from the University of Zurich, lets you upload a photo of yourself (or someone else) and guesses your age and your subjective hotness. Talk about a kick to your self-esteem!

But after playing with the app for kicks and giggles, we decided to experiment a little. What will happen if you upload pictures of dogs into a “selfie rater” app?

Well, according to artificial intelligence, dogs are hot.

Like, really hot.

However, we ran into plenty of hiccups. The app failed to recognize the majority of the dog pictures we uploaded.

Another weird snag we ran into was the app finding “faces” in things where there were no faces. I mean…?

What’s hilarious is that apparently a dog’s ear fold is hotter than most human people.

Just another reason why you shouldn’t take such technology too seriously. But we actually agree with the app. Dogs are Godlike.
