Imagine struggling to learn how to tie your shoes. Imagine the challenge of learning the guitar or drums. Ella Peggie is a beautiful little girl living in Queensland, Australia and this charming girl was born without her left arm. But this little cutie is going to face all of life’s challenges head-on with help from her awesome three-legged pup, Snowy.

Brooke Hodgson, Ella’s mom, spotted Snowy on Facebook, which proves that social media can have such positive transformative experiences in our lives. Without the shelter’s post or the Animal Welfare League of Queensland, Ella’s life would not have embarked on such an amazing journey.

To understand the power of social media and its help, let’s see what Brooke first saw. This is the video that started it all:

When Ella’s mom first discovered Snowy, the connection was instant. She knew Snowy would be the ultimate best friend for her daughter.

Brooke believes Snowy will build Ella’s confidence and self-love as she grows: “I knew she was going to be perfect for Ella – they share the same age so they both have a long life of friendship ahead of them. I just know that Snowy is going to give her a confidence boost growing up.”

What really warms my heart is that Ella will have daily life with a family member that can relate to her struggles and her successes! Many pups like Snowy can face challenges in finding forever homes because of their birth defects, which is heart-wrenching. Both Ella and Snowy can continue to set a precedence for love and acceptance in a world that can too often judge by appearances. Brooke adds: “It’s going to be great for her [Ella] when she realizes she’s different or when she’s having a bad day, she will see the resemblance and know that she’s not alone.”

Besides having a deep-rooted bond, the pair spend most of their day together. “I’ve noticed every morning, Snowy would look for Ella first before she runs to anyone else. It’s quite a unique bond and just beautiful to see,” said Brooke.

Brooke added that Snowy doesn’t let her amputated leg hold her back! Now, thanks to her loving family and the example of her best friend, Ella will learn not let anything stop her! Neither Ella or Snowy will let life get them down, and I intend to use their go-getting attitudes in my daily life.

I think Snowy and Ella are perfect in every way and I look forward to following their adventures on Facebook.
