In paw-nor of International Guide Dog Day, Guiding Eyes for the Blind returned to The Today Show with 6 members of their puppy pack training for service!

Guiding Eyes is a non-profit organization that gives guide dogs free of charge to individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Learn more about how you can be involved in Guiding Eyes from puppy raiser Saxon Eastman, and enjoy meeting some of their puptacular dogs!

1. Yolo

Yolo is a 9-month-old male yellow Labrador who aspires to be a guide dog. He enjoys going to work with his puppy raiser, Lauren, and sometimes goes on “outings” with Wrangler. A few weeks ago Wrangler and Yolo went for a walk in FDR Park together.

2. Gotham

Gotham is an 11-week-old male German shepherd who is enjoying exploring the world with his puppy raiser, Nicole. He has been learning many things and having lots of new experiences. Even though his journey is just beginning, he looks forward to being a guide dog someday!

3. Nectar

Nectar is a 9-month-old female yellow Labrador who is growing up in the Guiding Eyes Westchester Puppy Raising Region. Nectar enjoys puppy outings and playing with her big sister, Thimble. Nectar hopes to one day be a great guide dog!

4. Frito

Frito is an adorable 8-month-old female yellow Labrador who likes to win everyone’s heart with her “famous head tilt.” Frito enjoys going on outings with her puppy raisers, Nicole and June, and playing with the many other dogs who live in her house. With all the dog socialization Frito gets everyday, she is sure she will be a big hit in community run when she enters formal guide dog training at the Guiding Eyes training school.

5. Nilla

Nila is a 2-year-old female yellow Labrador and is a Guiding Eyes brood. Nilla is such a good girl that she decided rather than become a guide dog herself, she would produce a future generation of Guiding Eyes guide dogs. Nilla looks forward to the day she can watch her puppies help others and graduate as guide dogs.

6. Lucky

Lucky is a 14-month-old male yellow Labrador who looks forward to testing his luck in guide dog work. Lucky enjoys playing with his sisters, Dahlia and Julia, and going on walks with his puppy raiser, Bethany. Sometimes Lucky likes to hang out with Wrangler, and they have even gone to the Danbury Fair Mall together to have their picture taken with the Easter bunny!
