Have you heard about the new weight loss plan that has tails wagging all over the nation? These pawesome weight loss tips will have you and your pup on your way to that six pack in no time, just be sure to stay away from those puppucinos while you’re at it.
1. Before you begin, get your vet in on it.
First things first, you need to get the all clear from your vet before you start heading for that puppy bikini bod.
Yes, the vet. Trust us, it’s for the best, or you could end up like this… or worse.
2. Pick an activity that’s right for your pup’s needs.
Let’s not get crazy, running a marathon with your ten pound Chihuahua is NOT a good idea. Keep your pup’s weight, breed, and activity level in mind before you decide it’s a great idea to sign up for doggy crossfit.
3. Avoid “Weekend Warrior” syndrome.
We all get busy during the week, but you need to still try and get some activity in. But it’s not healthy for you or your dog to just go nuts on the exercise during the weekends.
4. Work on that balance
Working on balance is a key way to help your pup build muscle tone. Just don’t be too jealous when they get more SWOLE than you.
5. Protect those joints.
You only get one set of legs (well, except for your dog, who gets two). BUT ANYWAY, many active dog breeds are prone to joint issues, so check with your vet to see if a joint supplement would be good for your pup.
6. Don’t forget to REST.
Remember when your pup was a baby and you used to run him around in circles so they would finally go to sleep? Well, your puppy had the right idea – sleep after exercise is the best way to restore your body.
7. Enjoy your new physiques.
Congrats! You AND your pooch are looking fly. Hard work pays off and both of you guys can look forward to a happier, healthier future.
