We’re sad to report that Chester passed away this weekend. He died in the loving arms of his adopted mom, Nicole Elliott, having known love, compassion, and comfort in his last days.
I have written and erased this post several times, because I feel like once it's up it makes it feel so final. I am so…

When Nicole Elliott of Columbus, Georgia met Chester the pup, the little old man was covered in matted hair and suffering from a large tumor. Still, it was ruv at first sight! Though the tumor was removed via surgery, many more soon appeared in its place. Chester’s cancer is terminal, but Elliott decided to take him home and make his last days comfortable, happy, and furnomenal.

Chester was rescued from a high-kill shelter by Columbus nonprofit Animal Ark, and Elliott has set up a fund to help the organization save other elderly, dying, or unadopted dogs like Chester find happy homes.
Elliott is documenting Chester’s bucket list on the Facebook page Chester’s final journey.
So far, Chester’s been on a shopping spree, nommed a Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog (um, jealous), and had the chance to go swimming. Here’s to more adventures and a beautiful reminder to live every day to the fur-llest.
