Hollie Breaux Mallet from Louisiana discovered the most curious thing on her home security footage – little boy was running into her garage and cuddling her dog, Duchess, every day. She took to Facebook to ask if anyone knew who the boy was.
The video soon went viral, and she quickly found out the boy was her neighbor Ginger Clement Breaux’s son, Josh.
Ginger wrote that when she asked Josh about the footage and showed him the video, he ‘turned ten shades of red.’ But then he smiled and said, “you know I love dogs, momma.”
Hollie commented that she was so happy to find out about his love for dogs, and that Josh was welcome to play with Duchess as much as he wanted.
Now Josh and Duchess even pose for selfies.
Hollie wrote:
So glad to see that innocence and love was caught on camera instead of what they are normally used for. Can’t believe all the views this post has received, so glad to have captured this sweetness!
As happy as this story is, it has a bittersweet twist. Josh does love dogs, but there’s one dog he loved the most – his own dog, Bella. Bella passed away a year ago. Cuddling Duchess is his way of recapturing that bond.
His mother said:
We had Bella since Josh was 2, but she passed away last year. Things have been busy and Josh is active with after school activities so we have not jumped back into taking on the responsibility of starting all over again with a new pup quite yet. It will happen though!
She went on to say that she is extremely touched with how far and wide the video has been shared. There’s a lot of negativity on Facebook, and she’s so happy that this little piece of light and happiness is shining through all of that dark.
